According to the Telegraph, Jack Straw is to become Gordon’s first Chancellor, with Reid staying at the Home Office. This is not a new prediction, for example, the FT covered this (in more detail) last month. But the big question is who is the favourite to become Foreign Secretary? Miliband perhaps?

If the reports about Blair’s visit to Berlin on 25th March are true, there wont be a Foreign Office.
Rumours are that he wants to give it to the EU.

Gordon Brown is also rumoured to be planning to split up and dispose of the DTI.
Don’t forget that the FO is supposedly going to receive some of the DTI’s responsibilities for trade. It also does, and will continue, to be responsible for Europe, unless of course they make a seperate Ministry for Europe.
